(GWINNETT- METRO ATLANTA) April 25, 2014 –AlixaRx, a national pharmacy specializing in innovative technology to enhance patient care, joined with the Georgia Department of Economic Development and Gwinnett Chamber Economic Development to announce the addition of 85 high-income jobs and more than $650,000 in investment for the Metro-Atlanta community.

Since beginning its Gwinnett operations in January 2013, AlixaRx has established its business operations, hired and trained new employees and created a sustainable automated medication delivery solution that supports enhanced healthcare services and outcomes for patients throughout the state.

“Opening our AlixaRx pharmacy hub in the Metro- Atlanta region allows us to bring a better medication delivery system to patients in the post-acute setting,” said Brad Savage, Senior Vice President, of AlixaRx. “We sincerely appreciate the collaboration and support from the Gwinnett and Georgia Economic Development teams and look forward to expanding the employment and healthcare opportunities in the region.”

The AlixaRx hub in Georgia is one of six regional hubs across the United States. AlixaRx currently delivers pharmacy services to 12 skilled nursing facilities in Georgia and 181 across the United States. Business operations are located in Peachtree Corners, providing post-acute healthcare customers with sophisticated on-site automated medication dispensing systems. The AlixaRx solution enhances the patients’ safety and access to the medications they need, while saving costs and giving nurses more time to deliver direct patient care.

“It is no surprise that AlixaRx would choose Georgia to establish its regional pharmacy hub,” said GDeCD Commissioner Chris Carr. “Georgia has the fifth-largest logistics workforce in the nation and more than 75 cold chain logistics companies operate here. I have no doubt that AlixaRx will find the resources it needs to better reach its patients and other healthcare customers across the nation.”
